SpellSensei ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the SpellSensei Figma plugin and our website at spellsensei.com.

1. Information We Collect

We believe in data minimization. We only collect the information necessary to provide and license our service:

• Figma User ID: We track your unique Figma internal ID to manage your subscription, license status, and free trial.
• Usage Metadata: We record usage counts (how many times you run a check) to monitor fair use and ensure service stability.
• Billing Information: Payments are processed via Polar.sh, our Merchant of Record. We do not store or see your full credit card details. Polar.sh provides us with your email address and subscription status for licensing purposes.

We do NOT collect: your passwords, full design files, images, or any other metadata from your Figma account not mentioned above.

2. How We Process Your Text

To provide spell checking and grammar corrections, SpellSensei sends the text content you select in Figma to our processing infrastructure:

• Infrastructure: We use Cloudflare Workers to securely route requests.
• AI Processing: Your text is sent to Google Gemini AI for real-time analysis.
• No Permanent Storage: Your text content is processed in volatile memory and is NOT stored permanently on our servers or by Google Gemini (as per our API configuration). Once the check is complete and the results are sent back to your Figma instance, the text is discarded.

3. Data Protection (POPIA)

We comply with applicable data protection laws including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). We treat your data with the highest level of care and only process it for the purposes of providing the service you subscribed to.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party providers:

• Polar.sh: Handles billing, taxes, and payment processing.
• Cloudflare: Provides secure infrastructure and API routing.
• Google Cloud: Provides the Gemini AI models used for spell checking.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your Figma User ID and subscription status for as long as you have an active account or trial. If you wish to have your data deleted, please contact us at the email below. Metadata regarding processed text is deleted instantly upon completion of the request.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date.
